Description

The Spring Pasque Flower is a perennial, herbaceous plant that reaches the stature heights of 5 to 15 cm, fruiting, however, 10 to 23 centimeters. Their bright green, basal leaves are simply pinnate, with two to three Fiederpaaren. They are also available in the winter, but do not appear until after flowering.

The outer purple, inside white flowers have a bell-like to bowl-shaped appearance and a width of up to 6 cm. The bloom are outside densely covered with fine hairs. This shaggy hair fur that protects the plant against the extremes of the mountain spring, this species has also entered the name Pelzanemone. There are many stamens present. Flowering period is April to July.

Occurrence

The Spring Pasque Flower is native to the Alps and the mountains of Europe at altitudes of 3600 m above sea level. Here are their preferred locations pine forests ( at lower altitudes ) and silicate - poor grassland. She loves acidic and nitrogen- poor soils with medium to good supply base and is very light demanding. From East Germany to the edge of the Alps, it is a rarely occurring type, so it belongs in the Red List of endangered species in Germany to Category 1: threatened with extinction. It is especially and strictly protected.

In Austria, Spring Pasque Flower is in the territory of the Central Alps often, otherwise rare. You lack in Burgenland, Vienna and Upper Austria, Lower Austria this species is extinct. Presumably it is also extinct in the area of the Bohemian Massif.
