Punaauia

Punaauia is a municipality in French Polynesia. It is one of more than 20,000 inhabitants and is located on the western shore of the island of Tahiti in the Pacific Ocean.

Economy and culture

Punaauia is a tourist resort with a resort and an associated hotel complex. Also, there are mainly shops and factories. The industrial zones ( zones industrial / ZI ) are called " ZI de la Vaipopo ", " ZI de la Papereu " and " la ZI de la vallée de la Punauru ".

The power station " Electricité de Tahiti " concerned the production and distribution of electrical energy. The Musée de Tahiti et des Îles, founded in 1974 is a Punaauia ethnology, natural history and history museum of French Polynesia.
