Puntukas

The Puntukas is the second- largest erratic boulder in Lithuania, which was moved from the area of present-day Finland in the Greater anykščiai about 18,000 years ago. It has a weight of around 265 tons and the dimensions (6.90 x 6.70 x 5.70) ³ meters, its volume is about 100 cubic meters.

The carved on the front stone used today to commemorate the fatally injured at a transatlantic crossing Lithuanian- American pilots Darius and Girėnas. 1943 carved by the sculptor B. Pundzius a relief; for this he needed half a year. By 1957, the boulder was considered the largest of its kind in Lithuania. He was replaced in this order by the larger Puokė at Barstyciai in Žemaitija National Park.
