Qantir

Qantir (Arabic قنتير Qantir ) is a village in Egypt. For an excavation site is often referred to, in which it is a part of the ancient Pi -Ramesses. In Qantir found himself under Ramses II probably the administrative center for the region Pi -Ramesses. Qantir is located in the province of Ash- Sharqiyah and lies about 30 km north of Zagazig and about 9 kilometers north of Faqus away.

Approx. 2.5 km southwest of the village is the archaeological site of Avaris.
