Qatar SC
The Qatar Sports Club (Arabic نادي قطر الرياضي ), also known as Qatar SC, is a sports club from Doha in Qatar. The men's soccer team plays in the top league in the country, the Qatar Stars League. Their home games carries out the team in Qatar SC Stadium. The club is next to Al- Rayyan the most famous club in the country on the Arabian Peninsula.
History
Officially, the club was founded in 1959 as Al Nasour in Doha and merged in 1972 with the two clubs Al and Al Oruba Esteqlal. It was not until 1981, the club was named Qatar Sports Club. The football team has won seven national championships to date, including 1967 to 1969 three in a row. The last title win was celebrated in 2003. At the end of the 2008/09 season the team reached the fourth place.
