Qi Guangpu

Guangpu Qi (Chinese齐广璞, Pinyin Qi Guǎngpú, born October 20, 1990 in the province of Jiangsu) is a Chinese freestyle skis. He specializes in the discipline Aerials ( jumping) and decided in the season 2010 /11 World Cup discipline rating for themselves. In 2013 he became world champion.

Biography

His debut in the freestyle skiing World Cup had Qi on 9 December 2006 in Qilin, where he was 21. Around a year later he came the first time in the top ten. At the 2009 World Championships in Inawashiro he came on the 11th Place. By 2008, Qi took only a few World Cup competition in part ( only in China and Russia). 2009/10 he had his first full season. On 20 December 2009 he scored his first podium with second place in Changchun. Two more second places followed in January 2010, which was enough for second place in the discipline standings. At the 2010 Winter Olympics he finished seventh.

18 December 2010 Qi celebrated his first World Cup victory. At the 2011 World Championships in Deer Valley, he won the silver medal. Due to its resistance - he was never worse than classified in 7th place - decided Qi in the World Cup season 2010/11 Aerials - discipline rating for themselves. In the World Cup season 2011/12 he scored a victory and a second place. A further three podium finishes, including a win, were added in the World Cup season 2012/13. At the World Cup 2013 in Voss, he won the gold medal. In the World Cup season 2013/14 Qi stood on the podium twice, including once as the winner, while in fourth narrowly missed a medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics.
