Quadband

Quad band refers to the property of a mobile phone to support four main GSM frequencies and make it so compatible with most networks worldwide. The four supported frequency ranges are 850 and 1900 MHz ( used in the Americas ) and 900 and 1800 MHz, which are used in most of the rest of the world ( in Europe, Asia and Australia).

In contrast to a tri-band phone that supports only networks 900/1800 and 1900 or 850/1800 and 1900, can be practically phone with quad band phone in any GSM network in the world.
