Queanbeyan

Queanbeyan is a city and capital of the Local Government Area Queanbeyan City in the southeast of the Australian state of New South Wales. The city is immediately adjacent to the Australian capital Canberra and the Australian Capital Territory. The distance between the two city centers is about 10 kilometers. The border runs along the railway line. Through the city flows the Queanbeyan River. In 2006, Queanbeyan counted 34 084 inhabitants, the area of the urban area is 172.88 km ².
