Queens County (Nova Scotia)

Queens County is a county in Nova Scotia, Canada. In contrast to most other counties of the province of this County no longer exists as an administrative unit. The management of the site accepts the Region of Queens Municipality since its inception on 1 April 1996 with the exception of the Indian reservations, which continue to manage themselves.

History

The Queens County was founded on July 21, 1762 by the Lieutenant Governor and Council of Nova Scotia with the cities of Liverpool, Barrington and Yarmouth. The boundaries of the county reduced to 1784, when the Shelburne County was separated from the area of ​​Queens County.

In Queens County is a large part of Kejimkujik National Park, the main park in the country north of Caledonia and the appendage of the park on the Atlantic Ocean at Port Joli and Port Mouton.
