Quern
Quern (Danish: Kværn ) was a municipality in the district of Schleswig -Flensburg, in Schleswig- Holstein. History
The name " Quern " derives from the Danish " kværn ", which, as the Low German " Quarn " mill or hand-mill means. Originally it was probably a water mill in the municipality, the windmill now obtained, the thatched and functional Erdholländer hope in the district Nübelfeld, dates back to 1841.
Grave mounds have a settlement as far back as the Neolithic period. In the district Nübel remains of a moth have been found.
The Romanesque St. Nicolai Church in Great - Quern dates from around 1200 and is characterized by its unusual size. Scheersberg:
