Question answering

A question-answer system is a knowledge- based system that grants human users in natural language information to ( also in natural language asked ) questions. Moreover, question-answering systems are also already in the necessary for knowledge-based systems learning phase in a position to receive information in natural language form. The particularly close relationship to natural language in all phases of use, which should enable an effective dialogue between man and machine, different question-answering systems from other knowledge-based systems.

Recent Q & A systems are evaluated in various international forums, such as in TREC (English focus ), at CLEF ( European focus ) and NTCIR ( Asian focus ). The following institutions develop German -language question-answering systems (see also CLEF ): University of the Saarland, University of Hagen, etc.
