R-410A

R- 410A, and HFC -410A or 410A Suva, is a zeotropic, but nearly azeotropic refrigerant mixture that is very often used in air conditioning systems now. The mixture consists of 50 % R -32 ( Difluoromethane ) and R -125 ( Pentafluoroethane ).

It has in comparison to other refrigerant mixtures to a nearly negligible temperature glide. The refrigerant has a very high volumetric cooling capacity due to the relatively high vapor pressure. Thereby can be achieved with small compressors, a high cooling capacity, making the air conditioners can be reduced. The refrigerant has at 0 ° C has a vapor pressure of 8 bar and 26 bar at 42 ° C. However, the refrigerant can not be used in refrigerated areas, since the compression temperature is too high. The refrigerant R -407C was ousted in new R- 410A, since it is more effective due to the higher volumetric refrigeration profit. However, the system components must be designed for higher pressures. One cubic meter of R- 410A, in the evaporation absorb more heat than, say, R- 134a ( 1,1,1,2- tetrafluoroethane).

Although it has no ozone depletion potential, but is a greenhouse gas ( with a GWP of 1725 ) and thus contributes to global warming. Therefore, the industry continues its research into new refrigerants, but there are no production-ready alternatives.
