R. C. Sproul

Robert Charles Sproul, ( born February 13, 1939 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania ) is a Reformed pastor and professor of systematic theology.

Life

Sproul holds degrees from Westminster College in Pennsylvania (BA, 1961), the Pittsburgh - Xenia Theological Seminary ( M.Div. , 1964), the Free University of Amsterdam (Drs., 1969) and from Whitefield Theological Seminary ( Ph.D., 2001). While studying in the Netherlands, he learned the local language. Sproul has taught at numerous colleges and seminaries, including Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando and Jackson, Mississippi, and Knox Theological Seminary in Fort Lauderdale.

Currently, Sproul is senior minister of preaching and teaching in the parish of Saint Andrew's in Sanford, Florida. He was ordained in 1965 in the United Presbyterian Church in the United States to the priest, this left around 1975 because of their alleged liberalism and joined the Presbyterian Church in America. He is also a member of the Council of the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals ( Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals ).
