R. L. Stine's The Haunting Hour

R. L. Stine 's The Haunting Hour or The Haunting Hour: The Series is an American- Canadian mystery- horror television series by RL Stine. The series is produced since 2010 by Haunting Hour Productions in association with Front Street Pictures and is an episodic film. It is based on the anthologies R. L. Stine - And again strikes the witching hour and Nightmare Hour by RL Stine.

Concept

Much like in the television series Goosebumps, every episode has a different cast and a different story. However, these stories are much darker than in their aforementioned predecessors and some episodes serve as a very dark morality tales. For example, steals the main character in the episode The Red Dress the dress of a blind witch and as a result of their selfishness, she loses her eyesight.

Production and broadcasting

The series started on 29 October 2010 with a one-hour preview on the U.S. cable channel The Hub, which replaced the transmitter Discovery Kids on October 10, 2010. Then followed on 25 December 2010, a one-hour Christmas special, before they can be seen weekly since January 2011. A second season of 18 episodes has already been ordered. The shooting for the second season began on June 13, 2011 in Vancouver in the Canadian province of British Columbia. The broadcast of this season began in the U.S. on October 1, 2011, The Hub and ended on February 4, 2012. During the same month, RL Stine was via his Twitter account the extension of a third season known. The broadcast of the third season takes place from 13 October 2012 to 9 February 2013 The Hub.

Awards and nominations

For his guest appearance in the series Baljodh Nagra won at the Young Artist Awards 2012 the award for Best Guest Actress in a TV series, while Ricardo Hoyos, Dakota Goyo, Jason Spevack, Ava Rebecca Hughes and Jessica Mcleod were each nominated for their guest appearances in the same category. The Young Artist Awards 2013 Donnie MacNeil and Alissa Skobye were nominated for Best Guest Actress in a TV series.

DVD releases

The first season of the series appeared divided into four parts. Volume 1 & 2 were released on September 4, 2012, Volume 3 & 4 on 5 February 2013.
