Raalte
Raalte ( listen? / I ) is a municipality in the Netherlands, Overijssel province, with 36 479 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013).
The parish includes the large village of the same name, as well as the village of Heino and several smaller towns. Raaltes partner community is Mettingen in Westphalia.
Location and economic
Raalte located at the intersection of highways Zwolle and Deventer - Almelo - Ommen. These cities are located 15 to 20 kilometers away. Raalte and Heino have stations on the railway line Zwolle - Almelo. In Raalte there is a lot of agriculture and several small, mainly agricultural products processing industries. Also, there are some tourism.
Tourist
- In the village Raalte every year in late August takes place the traditional harvest festival " Stöppelhaene " with parade, including the well-known in the surroundings parade on Thursday. The name of this first time since 1950, held the festival dates back to the custom of hanging a straw, etc. decorated wooden tap outside of the farms after the rye harvest.
- There are several small natural areas spread throughout the municipality.
- Since 2004, in Raalte a motorcycle museum, where you can also rent bikes.
