RABe 520

Features

The drive module in the middle of the car develops a power of 760 kW, whereby a maximum velocity of 115 km / h can be achieved. The differences from the standard specifications include greater transport capacity, narrower car body in order to gain more distance from the road, and twice the number of doors. This is the first GTW, which is equipped with the new air-sprung bogies Stadler.

Areas of application

The RABe 520 were specifically for the Seetalbahn ( Lenzburg Lucerne) procured, but also run on other from Lenzburg Lucerne or subsequent SBB routes. The vehicles will thus also on lines Lenzburg Suhr Zofingen, Lenzburg Lenzburg, and Brugg - Rotkreuz - used (as of end of 2003). Until the partial route decommissioning timetable change on 12 December 2004, the RABe 520 were also on the track Aarau- Wettingen used.
