Rabwah

Chenab Nagar is a town in Punjab, Pakistan. The town was founded and renamed in February 1999 against the will of the people originally under the name of Rabwah ( Urdu ربوہ, hill ').

History

Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community ( AMJ ) founded the place in 1948 in the middle of the desert. The name of Rabwah goes back to the Qur'an. [A 1] Your old center, the place Qadian was after the partition of British India in the new ( Hindu ) India. As regards the movement as part of the Islamic world, it moved its headquarters to the Muslim, so now Pakistan, part of the Punjab. From a beginning as a tent town Rabwah has developed into a city with offices, schools and colleges.

In Rabwah Jalsa Salana International ( annual meeting ) of AMJ was held in 1983 over 200,000 people visited. In 1984, she was banned by the government in the wake of the 1983 adopted anti - Ahmadiyya laws. Rabwah was by then the seat of the Caliphate ul- Massihs. Due to the repression left the caliphate ul- Massih IV, Mirza Tahir Ahmad, Pakistan and went into exile in London. But Rabwah remained the administrative center of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

Earlier there was a settlement called Chak Dhagiyaan. It was renamed in 1948, a year after the creation of Pakistan in Rabwah. Rabwah was renamed Nawan Qadian (New Qadian ) 1998. The name was changed at the request of the enemy of AMJ, Manzoor Chinioti, and against the will of the inhabitants, in 1999 by the Parliament of Punjab in Chenab Nagar.

Transport and Infrastructure

The city is served by the railway line towards Karachi. The " Fazl -e- Omar Hospital", which was founded by the AMJ and operated, is the center of medical care for the entire region.

Mirza Tahir Ahmad wanted a clinic in Rabwah, which specializes in cardiac surgery. The cornerstone was laid in 2003 and named after him. At present the " Tahir Heart Institute " cardiology, angiological well as cardiac and vascular surgical sections.

The prestigious university that " Talim -ul -Islam College " and for women the " Jamia Nusrat College " will be attended by students from all over Pakistan. In the theological college of AMJ, called Jamia Ahmadiyya, complete missionaries from around the world their studies.

The two bazaars Chenab Nagar, the Sadr Bazaar ( also: Goal Bazaar) and Rehmat Bazaar (also: Ghalah - Mandi ) offer a comprehensive range of goods and services. Nearby there is a large library ( Khilafat Library), which has separate sections for men, women and children. Office buildings include banks and publishing houses, which bring out numerous books and newspapers, such as The Daily Al- Fazl, an international daily newspaper.

Religion

More than 95 % of over 49,000 inhabitants belong to the faith community of Ahmadiyya. [A 2]

There is also a large cemetery for the Ahmadi Muslims, the " Bahishti Maqbarah " ( Heavenly Graveyard ). There are two Khilafat ul- Massih and the first Muslim and Pakistani Nobel Laureate, Professor Abdus Salam are buried. Sir Muhammad Zafrullah Khan, the first Foreign Minister of Pakistan, and later president of the UN General Assembly and Chairman of the International Court of Justice in The Hague, has also found in this cemetery laid to rest.

In Chenab Nagar, there are about 66 mosques.

Geography

The city is about 24 square kilometers. Chenab Nagar is a small town on the river Chenab, which flows even at Jhang. Nearby is the town of Chiniot is located. The desert landscape around Chenab Nagar is mountainous and dominated by sedimentary rocks; Continental climate ensures warm summers and freezing winters.
