Rachel Ticotin

Rachel Ticotin ( born November 1, 1958 in New York City ) is an American actress.

The parents of Ticotin came at the beginning of the 1950s, from Puerto Rico to the United States. They lived in the Bronx. Ticotin took from the age of eight ballet classes. At age ten, she played a princess in the musical The King and I at New York City Center. At twelve, she attended the New York School Ballet Hispanico, where she was taught, inter alia, by Alvin Ailey, Geoffrey Holder and Anna Sokolow.

She starred in the film King of the Gypsies (1978 ) alongside Susan Sarandon, Brooke Shields and Eric Roberts in the movie Critical Condition (1987 ) starring Richard Pryor. In the movie Total Recall - Total Recall (1990 ) she starred opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger and took over the role of the insurgent fighter Melina. For this role she was nominated for the Film Award Saturn Award. In the movie Falling Down - Just another day ( 1993) she starred opposite Michael Douglas and Robert Duvall in the film, Don Juan DeMarco (1995 ) alongside Marlon Brando and Johnny Depp. She was also seen in several television series such as For Love and Honor (1983).

Ticotin in the years 1983-1989 was married to David Caruso, in 1998 she married the actor Peter Strauss. She has a daughter from his first marriage.
