Radiation burn
The radio dermatitis (or radiation dermatitis ) is a skin disease that can be attributed to the fact that a person was exposed to prolonged ionizing radiation. Most often the disease occurs in people who use very intensively with imaging equipment medicine which ionizing radiation, work (eg angiography ) or in patients undergoing radiation therapy.
The radio dermatitis can be divided into the following levels:
- Grade 1: Radio dermatitis acute sicca (dry dandruff )
- Grade 2: Radio dermatitis acute bullosa ( fluid-filled blisters)
- Grade 3: Radio dermatitis acute erosiva (loss of epidermal coverage)
- Grade 4: Radio dermatitis acute gangrenous (skin dies off )
