Radičová's Cabinet

The government Iveta Radicova was the government of Slovakia from July 8, 2010 to April 4, 2012, Prime Minister Iveta Radicova. It replaced the ruling since July 2006 Fico government. For the first time in the history of Slovakia a government led by a woman. After the coalition Radicova was starting October 11 2011 only provisionally in office.

Development

The coalition government was created after the regular parliamentary elections on June 12, 2010 and was formed from the bourgeois parties SDKU -DS, Sloboda a Solidarita, KDH and Most -Hid. Although the then ruling Social Democratic Party had clearly won the election, she was unable to form a coalition capable of governing. So they went with the nationalists in the opposition. The government received August 10, 2010 with all 79 votes of the governing coalition (of 145 votes ) the confidence of the Slovak Parliament.

Because of disagreements in the government in a number of substantive issues, the Cabinet was considered to be not very stable. Opposition leader Robert Fico had already formed a shadow cabinet for a possible government takeover. The intra- coalition government differences for the expansion of the European ESFS bailout led on 11 October 2011 on the question of confidence in the National Radičová in Bratislava, which was answered in the negative and led to the overthrow of the government. Thus the Iveta Radicova government was up to April 4, 2012 only provisionally in office.
