Rafael Morais

Rafael Morais ( born June 25, 1989 in Coimbra ) is a Portuguese actor.

Career

He played since he was 14 years theater and attended theater school in Cascais, where he also took lessons in modern dance and song. A first supporting role he played in the free-form style literary adaptation of Camilo Castelo Branco 's classic To Amor de Perdição. The film was shown at various international film festivals ( Locarno Film Festival, Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Las Palmas). In Marco Martins How to Draw a Perfect Circle on the incest taboo in 2009 he had the leading role. The film was the Portuguese candidate for the foreign Oscar and ran at various international film festivals. For his role in the award-winning Sangue do Meu Sangue much of João Canijo he received attention from the international criticism. In the U.S. production Chasing Eagle Rock, he played along with his twin brother Edgar Morais.

In 2011, he turned with the short film You are the Blood his directorial debut, which he also wrote the screenplay. After several stays in the USA ( Nature Theater of Oklahoma, Stella Adler Studio of Acting School in Los Angeles ), he now lives in Los Angeles.
