Rafael Muñoz Núñez

Rafael Núñez Muñoz ( born January 14, 1925 in Vista Hermosa, Michoacan, Mexico, † February 19, 2010 in Aguascalientes, Mexico) was Bishop of Aguascalientes in Mexico.

Life

Rafael Muñoz Núñez received after completing his education at the Pontifical Seminary of Montezuma, New Mexico, USA, on 24 March 1951, the priestly ordination in Guadalajara. He was initially responsible for the Mexican Catholic Action ( " Acción Católica Mexicana " ) worked, and later for the Archdiocese of Guadalajara.

Pope Paul VI. appointed him in 1972 as Bishop of Zacatecas. The episcopal consecration on September 29, 1972 gave him his predecessor José Pablo Rovalo AZCUE SM; Co-consecrators were Archbishop Francisco Javier Nuño y Guerrero, Bishop of San Juan de los Lagos, and Adolfo Hernandez Hurtado, Bishop of Zamora. In 1984 he was appointed by Pope John Paul II appointed Bishop of Aguascalientes.

In 1998, Pope John Paul II to his resignation for health reasons. He suffered from diabetes.
