Rafe Esquith

Rafe Esquith is an award-winning teacher.

Life

Esquith attended the University of California, Los Angeles. He has taught since 1984 at the Hobart Boulevard Elementary School in Los Angeles ( California). There are many students from educated parents and with an immigrant background, 92 % of the students are there live below the poverty line. All his students are non-native speakers.

His students perform each year on Shakespeare plays, including in the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Globe Theatre and the Ahmanson Theatre. 2005 about the documentary "The Hobart Shakespeareans " was filmed.
