Raffi (musician)

Raffi, CM, OBC ( born July 8, 1948 in Cairo, Egypt, actually: Raffi Cavoukian ) is a singer and composer of children's songs.

Life

Raffi lives in Canada. In his music style elements are from Calypso, Country, Folk, Gospel, Jazz, Ragtime and reggae.

The Washington Post described him as the most popular entertainer for children of the Western world. He was awarded the Order of British Columbia and the Earth Achievement Award from the UN. In the Simpsons episode No. 320 (2004) Raffi is parodied.

In 2000 he founded the Troubadour Institute, which advocates for a more child-friendly society. He published his autobiography under the title The Life of a Children's Troubadour. He campaigns against advertising to children.
