Raggedy Ann

Raggedy Ann ( ragged Ann ) is the main character of a children's book series created by the American author and illustrator Johnny Gruelle and was first published in 1918. The rag doll Raggedy Ann that comes to life when no humans are in the process was modeled on a doll Gruelle had created for his 1916 died at the age of 13 years daughter and patented in 1915. With the success of the P.F. Volland published from Chicago 's book series, they went into mass production. 1920 was introduced with Raggedy Andy, a male counterpart.

The doll is valid in the United States as a symbol against vaccinations because Gruelles daughter died as a result of a vaccine that has not been approved by their parents.

Book series like dolls collection were very successful in the United States even after Gruelles death. Raggedy Ann was a major figure in several animated films and an animated series.
