Ragnhild Bratberg

Ragnhild Bratberg ( born June 9, 1961) is a former Norwegian athlete orientation and Skilängläuferin. It was in ski orienteering multiple world champion and 1987 world champion in orienteering with the Norwegian season.

Career

Bratberg launched in 1981 for the first time in the summer at World Orienteering Championships and was from then on until 1991 the Norwegian World Cup squad. With the season they could 1981 and 1983 in 1985 to win their first world championship silver medal after two fourth places. In 1986, she was two-fold in the Bulgarian Batak World Champion in Ski orienteering with title wins in singles and in the relay, together with the runners Toril Hallan and Ellen Olsvik. In 1987 she was in the French Gerardmer together with Ragnhild Bente Andersen, Ellen Olsvik and Brit Volden relay world champion in orienteering. Another World Championship medal in the Summer Orienteering she won in 1991 with silver also in the relay. In single it reached in 1989 with their fourth best placement. The Ski Orienteering World Championships 1988 in Kuopio, Finland she could not defend her world championship title on the long distance with a second place behind the Finn Virpi Juutilainen. But on the newly introduced short distance she won ahead of Juutilainen and also won a silver medal in the relay. 1990 in Skellefteå, she won gold at both the short and on the long distance as well as bronze in the relay.

In 1988 she was awarded the Egebergs Ærespris, a price of Norwegian athletes will be awarded that are successful in more than one sport, excellent. In 1991 she won the cross-country skiing competition Birkebeinerrennet between Rena and Lillehammer. In Norway, she won several national championship titles, including 1989 and 1991 on the long distance in ski orienteering.
