Rahim Ademi

Rahim Ademi ( born January 30, 1954 in Karač, Yugoslavia ) is a Croatian general of Albanian descent.

Ademi was born in Karač near Vučitrn and grew up there. He finished 1976, the Military School of Yugoslavia in Belgrade. After working at a military base near Rogoznica near Šibenik. With his wife, he has two children.

1986 Ademi was accused of having been involved in "revolutionary plans ", and detained. After one and a half years, he was released from prison. He worked as an officer in Sinj until 1990, when the war in Croatia offing himself. He helped after the outbreak of war in this region in the formation of Croatian military forces.

It was 1990 Employees of the Croatian Interior Ministry and later joined the Croatian army at. 1993 Ademi was head of the military district Gospic. After surgery, Medak he was made redundant from the service.

Ademi later became Deputy Commander of the Military District of Split and has been promoted for his services in the military operation Oluja to brigadier general. He remained there until he got as an assistant advisor to the Croatian forces in Zagreb for a job.

2001 accused the ICTY for war crimes Ademi ( ethnic cleansing ) in which he allegedly committed in the Medak military operation. The case Ademi was given to a Croatian court in November 2005.

Ademi claimed in his defense, the Croatian government had, under pressure by the ICTY, and want to use him as a scapegoat in 1993 and released him in order not to bring the leading officers Janko Bobetko, Mirko Norac and Mladen Markač suspected.

On 30 May 2008 Ademi was acquitted on all counts.
