Rainbow (Iceland)

Regnboginn ( German: rainbow, party letter J ) is a small party in Iceland.

History

The party was founded by the then Member of Parliament Bjarni Harðarson, who belonged to the Progress Party in March 2013 before. In addition, as part of the party's founding told the deputies Jón Bjarnason and Atli Gíslason of the Left-Green Movement their move to the new party.

On initial start of the parliamentary elections of 2013, the party won about 1.1 percent of the vote and was not given a seat in the national parliament Althingi.

Program

In its program, the party depends, inter alia for the following:

  • The negotiation process for accession to the European Union is to be exposed
  • Sustainable development, as well as equality, justice and well-being should be promoted
  • The fight against all injustice and violence should be a top priority
  • For all to decent wages and working conditions must be guaranteed
  • Eradication of poverty and discrimination
  • Health care in the country should be strengthened
  • Everyone should have the right to a roof over their heads
