Raketenjagdpanzer

The rocket Jagdpanzer ( RakJPz ) is an armored military vehicle that is designed to fight tanks with anti-tank guided missiles. It is mostly used in the branch of service of the tank destroyer.

The main battle weaponry the vehicle has at least one missile launch facility, but usually two. While earlier rockets Jagdpanzer based mainly on chain chassis, can be used from 1980 onwards increasingly Radpanzerfahrzeuge. The advantage of RakJPz opposite equipped with cannon tank destroyers is the higher range of the missile, but this often has to be paid for by a reduced rate of fire.
