Rally of the Togolese People

Rassemblement du Peuple Togolais (RPT, " Assembly of the Togolese People "), was the ruling party of the West African country Togo until its dissolution in April 2012. Togo President Faure Gnassingbé was also national president of the RPT.

The RPT was founded on 27 November 1969 with the then President Gnassingbe Eyadema as a leader. Political wing of the RPT were the workers' organization, founded on January 8, 1973 CNTT ( Confédération Nationale des Travailleurs du Togo) and the women's organization UNFT ( Union Nationale des Femmes du Togo) as well as the youth organization of the RPT.
