Ralph Recto
Ralph Gonzalez Recto ( born January 11, 1964 in Quezon City ) is a Filipino businessman and politician of the Lakas - Kabalikat ng Pilipino - Christian Muslim Mala Yang Democrats ( Lakas -CMD ) and the Partido Liberal ng Pilipinas now that between 1992 and 2001 Member of the was the House of Representatives and then from 2001 to 2007 Senator. Since 2010 he is again Senator.
Life
Origin, studies and Congressman
Recto comes from a politically influential family. Claro M. Recto His grandfather was also a longtime member of the House of Representatives and the Senate, where both majority and minority leaders. His father Rafael Reyes Recto was a lawyer as well as between 1984 and 1986 Batasang Pambansa member of, the Philippine Congress.
He himself visited by the Elementary School Ateneo de Manila University of the 1978-1982 De La Salle College, where she earned his high school diploma. Thereafter, he completed a Degree in Business Management at the De La Salle University and in 1987 earned a degree in business administration. A subsequent post-graduate studies in public administration at the University of the Philippines Diliman in 1991 he graduated with a Master of Arts (MA Public Administration). Senator
In elections in May 2001 Recto was first elected the youngest member of the Senate and belonged to this for a six year term until 2007. First, he was between 2001 and 2004 in the 12th Congress Deputy Majority Leader ( Deputy Majority Floor Leader) and chairman of the influential Senate committees on ways and means ( Committee on Ways and Means ) and accounts ( Committee on accounts). In the subsequent 13th Congress, he was from 2004 to 2007 again chairman of the Senate Committee on ways and means and at the same time the Senate Committee on Agrarian Reform ( Committee on Agrarian Reform ).
In the Senate elections in May 2007 suffered Recto, who is also chairman of the foundations Claro M. Recto and Country Foundation Youth Education Foundation, but a defeat and only reached the fourteenth place at twelve to be awarded Senate seats. Subsequently, he was first. In the current 15th Congress for the legislative period 2010-2013 he is again Chair of the Senate Committee on Ways and Means, and at the same time the Senate Committee on government corporations and public enterprises ( Committee on Government Corporations and Public Enterprises).
