Ramaz Nozadze

Rama Nosadse (Georgian რამაზ ნოზაძე; born October 16, 1983 in Tbilisi ) is a Georgian wrestler. He was world champion in 2007 and European champion in 2003 and 2007 and winner of a silver medal at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens in Greco-Roman wrestling in heavyweight.

Career

Rama Nosadse whose date of birth is given in the website of the Georgian Olympic Committee with September 17, 1983, grew up in Tbilisi and began as a teenager in 1994 with the rings. The Freshman, who is actually a professional wrestler, a member of the SK Tbilisi and is trained by Otar Tateschwili. He wrestles exclusively in the Greco- Roman style.

His first try at an international championship he graduated in 1999 at the Junior World Championships in Nyköbing at middleweight. He finished there the 3rd place behind Adem Tacsi from Turkey and Chassan Barojew from Russia, should be 2004 Olympic gold medalist at heavyweight.

In 2001, he was first employed as the age of eighteen at a senior European Championship. He wrestled in the light heavyweight and had thereby his youth and lack of international experience even pay tribute, because he lost his two fights and ended up in 17th place. In 2002 he competed at the European Championships in Finland Seinäjoki even in the heavyweight division and missed 5th place just a medal. For this he won in the same year the title at light heavyweight at the Junior European Championships in Subotica before Poland Artur Nikolajczyk, Alexander Tschernetzki from Ukraine and Andreas Fix from Germany.

A very successful year was for the young Rama Nosadse 2003. Initially he was in Belgrade, European champion in the light heavyweight division, defeating amongst other things the Olympic champion and multiple world champion Gogi Koguaschwili from Russia. In the final battle he was point winner over Mirko Englich from Germany. A few weeks later he was in Istanbul Junior World Champion in Istanbul and again a few weeks later, he finished in the Senior World Championships in Créteil / France an excellent third place. He failed here in the semifinals of Karam Ibrahim of Egypt. But in the battle for third place, he defeated with Dawid Saldadse from Ukraine a class man.

In 2004 Rama Nosadse started only at the Olympic Games in Athens. In the light heavyweight division he defeated Mirko there Englich, Dawid Saldadse, Gogi Koguaschwili and Masoud Haschenzadeh from Iran. However, in the final battle he was defeated by Karam Ibrahim and won the silver medal.

After he was injured for a long time failed 2005/2006, he could hardly recover, start at the 2006 World Cup in Guangzhou / China again. Because of these successes Ramaz Nosadse was elected in December 2007 in Georgia Sportsman of the Year.

In 2008 Rama Nosadse defeat at the European Championships in Tampere in the semifinal against Aslanbek Chuschtow, but later won with a victory over Dinchew Kaloyan from Bulgaria a bronze medal.

For participation in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, he is qualified by its placement at the 2007 World Championships in Baku. In Beijing, he will surely give everything to win an Olympic medal again.
