Ramón Daumal Serra

Ramón Daumal Serra ( born April 3, 1912 in Badalona, near Barcelona, Spain, † February 10, 2008 in Barcelona, Spain) was a Roman Catholic Auxiliary Bishop of Barcelona.

Life

Ramón Daumal Serra studied philosophy and Catholic theology at the seminary in Barcelona and at the Pontifical University of Comillas. He received on 30 July 1939, the ordination and first worked in pastoral ministry, had close contact with the physicians and clergy Pere Tarrés i Claret and was co-founder of the Unión Sacerdotal de Barcelona. He was Dean of one of the largest and most influential parishes of Spain, the Parroquia de la Purisima Concepcion in Barcelona in 1968.

He was called by Pope Paul VI in 1968. appointed Titular Bishop of Mathara in Proconsulari and appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Barcelona. He received his episcopal consecration on 14 December 1968, the former nuncio to Spain and later Cardinal Luigi Dadaglio; Co-consecrators were the Archbishop of Barcelona and Marcelo González Martín later cardinal and his predecessor Archbishop Gregorio Modrego y Casaus.

In 1987 Pope John Paul II to the age-related resignation of Ramón Daumal Serra.
