Ramón José Castellano

Ramón José Castellano (* February 15, 1903 at Villa Dolores, Argentina, † January 27, 1979 in Córdoba, Argentina) was Archbishop of Córdoba.

Life

Ramón José Castellano received on 18 September 1926 and was ordained priest in the Archdiocese of Córdoba active.

On November 24, 1945, he was named by Pope Pius XII. auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Córdoba. The episcopal ordination on April 28, 1946 gave him the Archbishop of Cordoba, Emilio Fermín Lafitte; Co-consecrators were Froilán Ferreira Reinafé, Bishop of La Rioja, and Alfonso María Buteler, Archbishop of Mendoza.

In 1958 by Pope John XXIII. the appointment as Archbishop of Córdoba. After retiring in 1965, he was awarded by Pope Paul VI. the personal title of Titular Archbishop of Iomnium (pro hac vice ). He was a Council Father of the first and second session of the Second Vatican Council.
