Ramón Rodríguez Chacín

Ramón Emilio Rodríguez Chacín (? , Santa Ana, Anzoategui ) is a Venezuelan military and politician.

Life

Rodríguez Chacín participated in the military coup of 27 November 1992 against Carlos Andrés Pérez in part. He was arrested, but released early in 1994.

In 2002, Chávez appointed him Minister of the Interior. In the same year he was from another military, Diosdado Cabello, replaced. In 2007, he was employed as a coordinator for the negotiations for the liberation of Clara Rojas of the FARC.

2008 Chávez appointed him again as Minister for Home Affairs and Justice. He remained in this position for a few months.

Rodríguez is currently a leader of the Socialist Unity Party of Venezuela ( PSUV ). He ran for the state of Guárico in the gubernatorial elections of December 2012, and was elected with 74.7 % of the vote on December 16.
