Randall Bal ( born November 14, 1980 in Fair Oaks, California) is an American swimmer.

Career

Randall Bal won at the 2001 World Championships in Fukuoka, Japan, gold over 50m Backstroke in 25.34 seconds before the German Rupp Thomas Rath. Also he won silver over 100 meters at the 2005 World Championships in Montreal, Canada. In the Short Course World Championships in Shanghai in 2006 he won two bronze and a silver medal.

At the FINA World Cup 2007, he errung 21 of 21 to be obtained gold medals, broke in two Cuprekorde Berlin and won the prize money of $ 100,000 as best male participants. At the Olympic trials in the USA for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, Bal could not prevail even though he swam at the turn still under the then world record time of Aaron Peirsol in the 100 meters backstroke distance against strong competition.

In autumn 2008, Bal presented on both the long - as well as on the short track to new world records over the 50 meters backstroke distance.
