Randy Waldrum

Randy Waldrum ( born September 25, 1956 in Irving, Texas ) is a former American football player and current coach, who coached the franchise the Houston Dash in the National Women's Soccer League since the 2014 season. He spent most of his coaching career as an instructor of various women's teams in U.S. college sports.

Waldrum was active during his playing career with the franchise the Los Angeles Skyhawks, Indianapolis Daredevils and New York Cosmos.

Coach

From 1989 to 1994 Waldrum coached the football team of the University of Tulsa, Tulsa Golden Hurricane called (men and women). In 1996 he founded the women's football department of Baylor University and worked until 1998 as their head coach before he moved to the University of Notre Dame in 1999. With the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Waldrum won the 2004 and 2010 national championship.

Since 2012, he was also coach of the U.S. U-23 women's national team until he was replaced in December 2013 by Steve Swanson.

On January 3, 2014 Waldrum was appointed the first head coach in the history of NWSL franchise in the Houston Dash.
