Raoul Schrott

Raoul Schrott ( born January 17, 1964 in Landeck, Tyrol) is an Austrian literary critic, and writer comparatist.

Life

Raoul Schrott grew up in Landeck, Tunis and Zurich, the son of an Austrian foreign trade representative. After studying literature and linguistics in Norwich, Paris, Berlin and Innsbruck, he was from 1986 to 1987 secretary of the French Surrealists and author Philippe Soupault. As a dissertation he laid in 1988 at the University of Innsbruck in front of work from 1921 to 1922 Dada in Tyrol. From 1990 to 1993 he was a lecturer in German studies at the Istituto Orientale in Naples. In 1996 he qualified as a professor at the Institute for Comparative Literature at the University of Innsbruck, for its continued existence, he championed. In the winter semester 2008/2009 scrap was appointed to the Samuel Fischer Guest Professorship at the Free University of Berlin. Scrap lives in Austria. In 2012 he held the Tubingen poetry chair together with Christoph Ransmayr at the University of Tübingen.
