The Rapadelta

Rapaälven (also Rapaätno, Sami Ráhpaädno ) is the largest river in northern Sweden, Sarek National Park in the village of Jokkmokk. It drains to a length of about 75 km a large part of the national park.

The river Rapaälven arises from the four smaller rivers Smájllajåkkå, Mikkájåkkå, Guohperjåkkå and Áhkáåkkå in the center of Sarek National Park. These four rivers in turn are fed by 30 glaciers. Therefore, the Rapaälven per year, conducts approximately 180,000 tons of glacial debris with it. This glacier debris he stores in his two Delta landscapes - from the Rapaselet, a silted lake and the Rapadelta to its confluence with the Laitaure.

The Rapadal is made of Rapaälven and lined up to 2000 meters high mountains. Because of its breadth and depth, the river walk is difficult to traverse.
