Rashad Wright

Rashad Ralphil Wright ( born March 17, 1982 in Statesboro, Georgia ) is an American professional basketball player. He plays as a point guard. Since the 2013/14 season Wright plays in Cyprus for Keravnos Strovolou.

Career

Wright played in the NCAA during his study period from 2000 to 2004 for the Bulldogs of the University of Georgia. In 2004 he was selected in the NBA Draft at 59th place of the Indiana Pacers, but did not make it into the final team. Then he was taken in 2004 at Panionios Athens in Greece under contract and moved to the next season with the trained Luka Pavićević KK Hemofarm in Serbia. From 2006-2007 Rashad Wright played at Telindus Oostende in Belgium, with whom he was Belgian champion. After a stopover at Turkish Efes Pilsen Istanbul, where Wright was able to complete only nine games due to injury, he moved in 2008 to Alba Berlin, who were trained by Pavićević since 2007. With Alba Berlin in 2009, he was German Cup and reached the round of 16 in the Euro League. After the 2009/2010 season his engagement ended with Alba Berlin and he was injured in the ensuing summer break in 2010, after which he remained vertragslos one season.

In the 2011/12 season signed him PAOK Thessaloniki of the Greek A1 Ethniki, where he first played together among other things, with the Marcus Goree known from the German Bundesliga. After Goree the club in early January left towards Italy, also Wright's contract was terminated in mid-January. A week later, he signed with the French LNB Pro A subscriber Chorale Roanne Basket from where he was again coached by Luka Pavićević. The contract was not renewed at the end of the season. After a year break, he returned to the 2013/14 season at Keravnos Strovolou from Nicosia, Cyprus on the dance floor back.
