Raškovice

Raskovice ( German Rasch Schukowitzgasse ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is eleven kilometers south-east of Frýdek- Místek and belongs to Okres Frýdek- Místek.

Geography

Raskovice extends the left side of the Morávka at the foot of the Moravian- Silesian Beskids. To the north, the Lesser Prašivá rises (706 m ) in the north- east, the Prašivá (843 m) and cupel (872 m ) in the east of Lipí (901 m ) south of the Obora (709 m) and Kyčera (906 m). History

Raskovice was created during the colonization of the area in the early 14th century as Waldhufendorf. First records of the town was in 1305 in a decade Directory of the Diocese of Wroclaw as Holzmul ( Holzmühl ) at Rudgeri villa. The name Raskovice is the first time in 1573 to be found in the land register of the rule Friedeck. 1580 was the village of 21 settlers. At this time there was also a sawmill in the village. During the winter months the men of Raskovice wood shingles made ​​. Bartholomew of Vrbno and Freudenthal put 1590 first free Vogt in Raskovice. In 1950, the community was reclassified to Okres Místek and after its dissolution in 1961 it belongs to the Okres Frýdek- Místek. 1980 Raskovice lost its independence and was under the name Morávka 3- Raskovice to the hamlet of Great Morávka. Since 1990, the community is Raskovice again.
