Rasmus Lyberth

Rasmus Ole Lyberth ( born August 21, 1951) is a Greenlandic singer, songwriter and actor who is internationally active. Since 1970, he is one of the most popular artists in the Greenlandic music scene.

Journey

Rasmus Lyberth born in Maniitsoq, but grew up in Nuuk, where he began playing the guitar already twelve years old. He is the son of the teacher and writer Erik Lyberth and his wife Emmy Lyberth. In 1969 he started with small gigs in bars in Copenhagen, had initially but make do with other jobs until success then gave him the chance to make a living from his profession as a musician. In 1974 he released his first album Erningaa.

This album was a success, and the second followed a few years later, he took a little musical break. Lyberth was also on the stage of the Greenland Tuukaq Teatret. In addition, he also gave several concerts not only in Denmark and Greenland, but also in many other countries in Europe and North America. Rasmus Lyberth also collaborated with other musicians, including Christian Alvad and Lars Lilholt band.
