Raszowa, Strzelce County

Raschowa (Polish Raszowa [ raʃɔva ] ) is a place in the bilingual Polish community Leschnitz ( Leśnica ) in the powiat Strzelecki of the Opole Voivodeship.

Geography

Raschowa is located approximately 35 kilometers southeast of Opole and 4 kilometers south of Leschnitz in the historic Upper Silesia. The northern part of the village with the church is actually the village Rokitsch, which has merged in Raschowa.

History

For the first time the village was mentioned in 1353 when it was sold by Rudolf Grzimicz. During this time the name Rassowa appears. In the princely villages from 1532 register Raschowa was mentioned as Russowa. In the visitation records of the Church authorities in 1679 and 1688, the village Raszowa and Rassowa was called. Later the official name Raschowa prevailed.

Until the secularization in 1810 Raschowa belonged to the monastery pin heaven joke. 1783 was a Vorwerk in Raschowa. 1830 had 259 inhabitants Raschowa who lived in 35 houses. Until 1818, the villages Raschowa and Rokitsch belonged to the district of Great Strehlitz, later to the district Cosel.

1927-1928 Raschowa was annexed to the village Rokitsch. Later the church in Raschowa - Rokitsch has been renamed. The oldest mention of the settlement Rokitsch comes from the document of Prince Władysław of Bytom - Cosel from 1321, in which Piotr Strola de Rokycz is mentioned. In the tithe register of Nuncio Galhard 1335 the church was mentioned as " ecclesia de Rokycz ". The present Baroque parish church of All Saints dates from the 15th/16th. Century, after the expansion in 1882, it was rededicated. Later documents from the years 1445, 1455 and 1469 bear the name Rokycz and Rokycze. In contrast, in the ecclesial reports from the end of the 17th century is the talk of "villa Rokicze " and " pago Rikitz ". 1830 the village had 40 houses. Even then, it was a Catholic school. At the time, worked for three water mills.

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on 20 March 1921 which was accompanied in the area of civil wars, voted in Raschowa 343 persons to remain in Germany and 138 for Poland - In Rokitsch was reversed, a majority of 254 votes for Poland and 153 for Germany. Raschowa and Rokitsch remained as the entire voting district Cosel the German Reich.

From 1933 the new Nazi rulers large-scale renaming of place names of Slavic origin conducted. 1934, the village name was changed to Raschowa - Rokitsch middle bridge.

1945 was the place as Raszowa to Poland. The place Rokitsch has risen in Raschowa.

In 2006, the Gmina Leschnitz, the Raschowa listened as district, German as an auxiliary language, and in 2008 a bilingual place names.
