Ratko Delorko

Ratko Delorko ( born August 15, 1959 in Hamburg ) is a German pianist, composer and conductor.

He studied at the conservatories in Dusseldorf, Cologne and Munich, piano, composition and conducting. From him are numerous CD recordings as a pianist.

Life

Born in Hamburg pianist, composer and conductor, he has performed at home and abroad. His repertoire ranges from the Baroque to the present- music.

Delorko concerts before 2500 people at the Berlin Philharmonie, but also in the Dachstein ice cave in the Austrian Alps ( at temperatures around the freezing point ). He devotes himself alongside the established concert repertoire also lesser-known works and composers he first grossed partly on CD.

His CD " The History of the Piano " explains the technical and tonal development of the piano based on musical examples played on the respective corresponding period instruments of 300 years. This project expanded to a concert event: Delorko then travels according to the possibilities of the organizer with articulated lorries and up to 23 historic wings on, or even just with a few small instruments, and hosted the concert with the support of a multi- medial presentation.

Delorko took, inter alia, two piano concertos of Beethoven on period instruments. There are also CDs with the entire Gershwin piano works and Mozart piano concertos and Chopin works (live at the Philharmonie Berlin). His recording of Robert Schumann's " Papillons " with texts of Schumann contemporaries Jean Paul (voiced by Reiner Schöne ) has been described by experts as a reference recording.

His own compositions include piano works as well as chamber music, orchestral works and electronic music, including the " Jazz meets Classic" concerts in duo with the also internationally known jazz pianist Christoph Spendel.

Delorko gives concerts and master classes in Europe, USA and Asia. He also teaches at the Musikhochschule Frankfurt and is also known as a writer for pianistic magazines.
