Rattlesnake Annie

Rattlesnake Annie ( born December 26, 1941 as Ann Gallimore in Puryear, Tennessee) is an American country music singer.

Biography

Ann Gallimore had Native American ancestors and grew up in a rural setting. With two cousins ​​she formed the trio Gallimore Sisters, which had numerous appearances - including at a local radio station. After winning a talent competition, they even played at the Grand Ole Opry. In 1968, she married Max McGowan, who was from then on her manager.

Musically, she joined Willie Nelson, whom she met in 1969. In 1976 she founded her own label and produced the album Rattle Snakes And Rusty Water, the only in Europe was a success. Rattlesnake Annie came in the following years, becoming more frequent in Europe. In 1982 the album Rattlesnake Annie And The Last Cowboy recorded in Czechoslovakia with the country singer Michal Tučný, the outstanding sold in the former Eastern bloc countries, and with whom she was finally able to attract attention even in the USA. In Nashville, some time later produced the critically- rated Album Rattlesnake Annie.
