Rättvik

Rättvik is a place ( tätort ) in the Swedish province of Dalarna County and Dalarna.

The town is located on the eastern shore of Lake Siljan and is capital of the municipality of the same name.

Rättvik is a tourist. The Rättvik Church dates from the 13th century, but was rebuilt in the 18th century. In the church there are about 100 Church cottages and stables, partly from the 17th century. Even today you were rowing boats in the summer in traditional church for Sunday mass.

The pier, start at the excursion steamer and midsummer church boats is 625 m long. It was built in 1895.

The place is known for its vibrant folk culture, especially the folk music ( spelmansmusik ). During the summer, several festivals are held, including music vid Siljan and Rättviksdansen.

In addition, in Rättvik the Classic Car Week Festival takes place - one of the two largest, beyond the borders of known across automotive festival, which 25000-30000 automotive enthusiasts but also technology and nostalgia fans attracts daily during the event week after Rättvik.

Traffic

Rättvik has a station on the railway line Rättvik Borlänge, which is now called Dalabanan ( railway Mora - Uppsala ) after naming by Banverket in 1990.
