Raúl Alcalá

Raúl Alcalá Gallegos ( born March 3, 1964 in Monterrey, Mexico ) is a retired Mexican professional racing driver, who was active from 1985 to 1999 and in 2008.

In 1986, Alcalá became the first Mexican cyclist, who took part in the Tour de France. At the Tour de France in 1987, he won the white jersey for the best participant under 25 years. Both in 1989 as well as 1990, he won at the Tour de France each have a stage and finished third in the overall standings to eighth place. He represented his native country at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, where he finished in eleventh place in the road race. In 2008, he returned briefly in the professional circus to participate in the Vuelta Chihuahua. In 2010 - at the age of 46 years - he won the national championship in the individual time trial.
