Raunchy (Band)
Raunchy is a metal band from Denmark, which draws stylistically from genres such as Alternative Metal, Nu Metal, Metalcore, Industrial Metal, and since the latest album also Melodic Death Metal, but dubbed her style even with " Futuristic Hybrid Metal". Since the 2008 album Wasteland Discotheque also the first time elements of pop music in the songs can be found. The band's style can be roughly summarized assign the sub-genre Neo - Thrash.
Band History
In 1992, the band Jesper Tilsted, Jesper Kvist, and Morten Toft Hansen was founded in Copenhagen. 1994 was the formation, now reinforced by Lars Vognstrup for singing and Lars Christensen for the second guitar, the name Raunchy.
2002, her debut album Velvet Noise appeared under Nuclear Blast, which was marked by brutal guitar parts. The album was first released as a digipack with the label Mighty Music, the second release was including bonus track on Nuclear Blast.
In 2003 the band recorded their second album Confusion Bay, which came on the market a year later. In the same year left Lars Vognstrup the band and was replaced by Kasper Thomsen.
Early in 2006 their album Death Pop Romance in the sale, which is similar as the two predecessors of the music of the band Fear Factory. Shortly after, they toured with Soulfly by Germany. In November 2006 Raunchy went with Hatesphere and Volbeat on a tour with the name "The Danish Dynamite Tour". On this tour they also played five concerts in Germany. Also in 2006, won Raunchy at the Danish Metal Awards, the prizes in the categories " Production of the Year " and " Artwork of the Year".
Published in 2007 a re-release of the first album Raunchys under the name Velvet Noise Extended the label Mighty Music.
A year later appeared Wasteland Discotheque, which resembled not so much the music of Fear Factory, but his influences scooped by keyboards and synthesizers. To which songs like " Somebody's Watching Me " moving no longer on metal, but on pop music level.
The new album, A Discord Electric appeared on 20 September in Denmark and on October 8, 2010 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and as has been the previous released under Lifeforce Records. Even as its predecessor, the music of the album was influenced very pop -heavy and strong from the keyboard.
On March 14, 2013 Kasper Thomsen announced on the official website of the band that he was no longer part of this is. A little later Mike Semesky was introduced as the new singer of the band to the public. In December 2013 Raunchy changed the label and signed a contract with Massacre Records. In the same press release, the band also announced a new album what, what should appear in 2014.
