Ray Neufeld

Raymond Matthew Neufeld ( born April 15, 1959 in Saint -Boniface, Manitoba ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player. During his career he played 1979-1990 595 games in the National Hockey League for the Hartford Whalers, Winnipeg Jets and Boston Bruins. His position was the right wing.

Career

Ray Neufeld began his career as a hockey player in Canadian junior Western Hockey League in which he was active for the Flin Flon Bombers and Edmonton Oil Kings 1976-1979. He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1979 in the fourth round as a total of 81 players from the Hartford Whalers.

For the Whalers, he gave in the 1979/80 season his debut in the National Hockey League. In his rookie year, the attacker scored in ten games two goals for the Whalers before he was released on 21 November 1985 in exchange for Dave Babych to the Winnipeg Jets. After three years in which he had a regular place in the Canadians, they transferred him on December 30, 1988 Moe Lemay to the Boston Bruins. With the Bruins he stood up to the end of his active career in 1990 on the ice, where he only played in the season 1989/90 a game in the NHL for the Bruins. Instead, he played for their farm team, the Maine Mariners, in the American Hockey League, where he scored 56 points scorer in 76 games.
