Ray Stevenson (actor)
George Raymond " Ray" Stevenson ( born May 25, 1964 in Lisburn, Northern Ireland ) is a British actor.
Life
Ray Stevenson is the son of a British Air Force pilot and an Irish mother. He grew up in Newcastle upon Tyne. Initially he worked as interior designer, before he started 27 years studying acting at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
Stevenson plays mainly in television series and films, but also as a supporting actor in films such as King Arthur.
His breakthrough as an actor, he managed with the main role of Titus Pullo in the television series Rome. In Punisher: War Zone, published in 2008, the Marvel comic book movie, he took over the titular role of the Punisher. The film flopped in the United States and therefore appeared in Germany directly on DVD.
In 2011 he plays the musketeer Porthos in The Three Musketeers. In April 2012, Stevenson got a recurring role in the seventh season of the thriller series Dexter.
Stevenson was married from 1997 with fellow actress Ruth Gemmell, the marriage ended in divorce in 2005.
With his current girlfriend, the Italian Elisabetta Caraccia, anthropologist, who he met while filming in Rome, he has two sons (* 2007 and * 2011).
